Hi, I am Molly Elizabeth. Throughout my college career, I had many opportunities through internships to find my appreciation for visual design. I have developed strong critical thinking skills, an understanding of how to approach creative processes, the ability to wear many hats in team settings, and the ability to control and utilize the laws and principles of design. I am also eager to learn new things, experiment with new ideas, and work with others with the same ingenuity as I. I am fascinated by game visuals, illustration design, and marketing techniques used in design practices. My work explores diverse media such as illustrations, infographics, posters, stationery, and mythological studies (legends and folklore), examining design, story development, statistical information, and building brand identity.

Internship work is over two different internships while my time at Northwest Missouri State University.
One internship I completed was with the Marketing and Communications department on campus as a Design Assistant, the other was a class-based internship called Knacktive.

An award that I received through my design work started back in 2015 as a Junior in High School with my men's t-shirt design for the Across the Border Charity Motorcycle Raid in Bedford, Iowa. Some achievements I've made while I was working on my college career are a flyer that I designed for GameStop while working as an Assistant Manager. Last, a couple of flyers I designed was for AdInk, an organization I was a member of while attending Northwest Missouri State University.

Re-Branding
My package design for the "Re-Branding" design project was based on a previous course, Advanced Graphic Design, assignment to re-brand a business. For the course, I rebranded a gaming company and named it "NextGen". In the semester-long, the class was assigned to create a brand through the process of personas, target audience, products, and marketing the company would use. My original design idea was based on how I could improve my company I created in Advanced Graphic Design since I didn't originally get to design packaging for it.
The main focus of the brand is the octagon shape of the original logo, but since it is a technology company the logo didn't scream technology exactly. So the new logo, as seen below, shows an AI robot character. The octagon, being the main focal point, I decided to incorporate it in a new way, through the padding inside the boxes for packing material.
Overall, my goal was to create a logo that would express the idea of a technology company to the audience.
A System of Packaging
The system of packaging project was to design a family of three related products that required a system of packing (i.e.: tools: wrenches, pliers, hammer).
Using concept design, worked out through thumbnails, the project was about three zodiac star signs. The goal was to create a collection of essential oils that make up my true zodiac sign: Sagittarius-Scorpio-Taurus cusp, which is based on the time, location, and star alignment during the time of my birth. My month zodiac sign however is Capricorn.
During this project, while researching, it was determined which oils would be used based on which would benefit or be recommended for each of the star signs chosen.
Essential Oils Recommend for the Star Signs:
Sagiittarius: Tea Tree Oil - Helps Sagittarius heal and encourage their spirit
Scorpio: Jasmine or Peppermint - Nurtures sensual side and softens their intense nature.
Taurus: Sweet, creamy florals like Lavendar, Gardenia, or Magnolia Oils - encourage Taurus' feelings of protection and security.
By researching each of the star signs lore, it was determined what would be the best representation of the three-star signs that represented me spiritually. The supported research mostly rendered the Greek lore beings of each of the signs sent to the heavens as either an award for their accomplishments or as a punishment for their wrongdoings. I decided the best way to represent this was to have a star above the crescent moon.

3D Animation was a completely foreign skill to me before taking the course in college and was a struggle for me. During the course, the class explored Adobe After Effects. Three of my best works are displayed below. A dynamic motion project, a visual count down, and a kinetic type project.
Dynamic Motion: "Paper Toss"
Dynamic Motion: "Paranoia"
Visual Count Down: Judge Gavel, 8 seconds

I worked for Toys For Trucks at the beginning of July 2022. I had never worked with vinyl before, but I had many opportunities to design vinyl wraps for vehicles. I also had many other opportunities to put my skills to the test to help the local clientele express their vision for their business, their vehicles, and more through banners, stickers, business cards, and much more!
